ചലച്ചിത്ര സംഗീതസംവിധായകനാണ് എസ്എ രാജ്കുമാര്. സെല്വരാജന്-കണ്ണമ്മ ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകനായി 1964 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 23 ന് ചെന്നൈയില് ജനിച്ചു. പിതാവ് പ്രൊഫഷണല് വോക്കലിസ്റ്റ് ആയിരുന്നു. പിതാവിന്റെ സംഗീതത്തിലുള്ള അഭിരുചി മകനിലേക്കും പകര്ന്ന് കിട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ക്ലാസ്സിക്കല് മ്യൂസിക്കില് പഠനം നടത്തി.മ്യൂസിക് ഷോകള് നടത്തിയാണ് സിനിമയിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് വന്നത്. ചിന്ന പൂവ്വേ മെല്ലെ പേസു എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലാണ് ആദ്യമായി സംഗീത സംവിധാനം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചത്. തമിഴ്, തെലുങ്ക്, മലയാളം, കന്നട എന്നീ ഭാഷകളിലായി നിരവധി ചിത്രങ്ങളില് സംഗീത സംവിധാനം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് തവണ ബെസ്റ്റ് മ്യൂസിക് ഡയറക്ടര്ക്കുള്ള അവര്ഡ് കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
