ശശി കലിംഗ ജീവചരിത്രം

പ്രശസ്ത ചലച്ചിത്ര- നാടക നടനാണ്‌ ശശി കലിംഗ (വി ചന്ദ്രകുമാർ). ഓട്ടോമൊബൈൽ എൻജിനിയറിങ് ഡിപ്ലോമ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശശി, അമ്മാവൻ വിക്രമൻ നായരുടെ സഹായത്തോടെയാണ് നാടക രംഗത്ത് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത്. വീട്ടിലെ വിളിപ്പേരായ ശശി എന്ന പേരിനൊപ്പം കോഴിക്കോട് എന്നു ചേർത്താണ് നാടകത്തിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിരുന്നത്.

ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ച് വർഷത്തോളം നാടകരംഗത്ത് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. അമ്മാവന്റെ 'സ്റ്റേജ് ഇന്ത്യ' നാടകട്രൂപ്പിന്റെ രണ്ടാമതു നാടകമായ സാക്ഷാത്കാരത്തിലാണ് ആദ്യം അഭിനയികുന്നത്. ഇതുവരെ 500-ലധികം നാടകങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം 'പാലേരിമാണിക്യം ഒരു പാതിരാക്കൊലപാതകത്തിന്റെ കഥ' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെയാണ് മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര രംഗത്ത് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത്. ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകൻ രഞ്ജിത്താണ് നാടകട്രൂപ്പിന്റെ പേരായ കലിംഗ ശശിയുടെ പേരിനൊപ്പം ചേർത്തത്. 25 വര്‍ഷത്തോളം നാടകരംഗത്ത് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച ശശി 500 ല്‍ അധികം നാടകങ്ങളില്‍ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

നാടകം കൂടാതെ നിരവധി ടെലിവിഷൻ സീരിയലുകളിലും, നൂറിലധികം മലയാള സിനിമകളിലും അദ്ദേഹം അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന്‍ ആന്‍ഡ് ദ് സെയ്ന്റ്, പുലിമുരുകന്‍, കസബ, ആമേന്‍, അമര്‍ അക്ബര്‍ അന്തോണി, ഇന്ത്യന്റുപ്പി എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന സിനിമകള്‍. 2019ല്‍ റിലീസ് ചെയ്ത കുട്ടിമാമയിലാണ് അവസാനം അഭിനയിച്ചത്. കരള്‍ രോഗത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് 2020 ഏപ്രില്‍ 7ന് അന്തരിച്ചു.
