ശ്രീവരാമൻ ശാസ്ത്രി, കമലം ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകനായി 1955-ൽ ജനിച്ചു. തിരുവനന്തപുരം എം ജി കോളേജിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയതിനു ശേഷം പതിനെട്ടുവർഷം കാളിദാസകലാകേന്ദ്രം എന്ന നാടക ട്രൂപ്പിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തു. പിന്നീട് 1996-ൽ ദില്ലിവാല രാജകുമാരൻ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ ചലച്ചിത്രാഭിനയരംഗത്ത് പ്രവേശിച്ചു. മലയാളം നടിയായ ഗിരിജ പ്രേമനാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യ. പ്രധാനമായും ഹാസ്യ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള വേഷങ്ങളാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാറുള്ളത്.
